Governance at QE and the role of the local school committee

Queen Elizabeth School and Initio Learning Trust aim to provide an excellent education and opportunities for the students and the community that our school serves, where everyone can flourish.

We are determined to inspire in our students a love of learning, raising their aspirations, and to embed the 3 core
values of the Trust – ambition, respect, and collaboration.

The Local School Committee (LSC) is central to the governance of QE. Together with Mr Neill and his senior leadership team, the LSC is focused on creating and sustaining a culture at QE where everyone – pupils, staff, visitors and our wider community – feel valued, respected and cared for.

The voice of our students, our staff and our parents are important to us, and we want to listen and to communicate effectively with you, explaining what we do and why we do it. Above all, we aspire to be an inclusive school reflecting our community and to meet the needs of our students and our community as far as we are able to do so.
We believe every student has a right to learn, and the LSC works alongside the senior leadership of the school to ensure that can take place through creating a safe, secure and professional learning environment where the quality of education and care provided is consistently excellent.

If you wish to find out more about governance and the work of the LSC at QE, or are interested in becoming more involved at the school, then please contact the clerk, Ms Hazel Serkis via email at hserkis@queenelizabeths.com
